Ventores ToughCord - The ultra-strong leash

In contrast to classic leashes, the Ventores leash cord consists of two balanced components: A flexible 5 mm BASF® urethane core for shock absorption and an ultra-strong Dyneema® cover which absorbs the force of the wave impacts and offers the leash optimum protection against overstretching, cuts and breakage.

Ventores SoftSwivel - The metal-free / purist swivel connection

Ventores is replacing the two corrosion-sensitiv metal swivels that were common on the market with the newly developed “patent pending” Ventores SoftSwivel technology. High-strength knots made of Dyneema® fibers rotate on low-friction surfaces made of special polyamide. This eliminates the need for gluing, plug connections and screw connections.

OnePiece-Spacer - The simple spacer

The spacer on the ankle strap of standard leashes has to absorb all tension and bending loads during the impact of a wave, which can lead to material failure. With Ventores, the cord is simply fed through the spacer to the SoftSwivel rotation mould in the ankle strap. Thus, the spacer does not have to absorb any tension load, but only keeps the leash cord flexibly away from the foot.

SafeLock system - the reliable board connection

With conventional rail guards, frequent opening, continuous tension loads and contact with sand lead to wear of the Velcro, which can result in the loss of the board. The FutureLeash uses a newly developed Velcro loop system that halves the tension loads and distributes them much more optimally to the three Velcro layers. This reduces the risk of the Velcro opening due to wear.

Choose the right Leash

Ventores currently offers 3 different lengths of Futureleashs for your board: 6ft, 7ft and 9ft. In bigger waves (over head) you can choose a longer leash for more comfort in hard impacts. This has no significant effect on performance due to the lower water drag of the thinner cord.

Apart from that:
- The leash should be about as long as your board.
- Leashes that are too short can hold the board dangerously close to you.
- Leashes that are too long increase the risk of entanglement.
